Exhibition Idea Party
On Tuesday night, curator Erin Marie Sickler hosted an “idea party” for Trade Schoolers. Erin said, “making an exhibition is pretty straightforward. I will send everyone a .pdf about how to do it, but we should use this time to utilize the group’s resources and knowledge and help each other work through ideas.” What is an Idea Party? It means that 14 students had 10 minutes each to present an idea, explain any obstacles that block it’s realization, and get feedback from the group. It was incredibly productive to brainstorm with such a disparate group of individuals. From promoting local business in Alabama to creating a collective in 2 months, the group gave helpful suggestions and sensitive reactions to each idea.
